On the south side are numerous shallows collectively known as Plitvac Palacol and the islets of Oruda and Palacol. To the east is the Kvarnerić Bay and the islet of Trstenik, about 6 km from Punta Križa, at the closest point a little over 4 km. Across Kvarnerić, further to the east is Pag, and to the northeast is Rab. Osor is the closest neighbor to Punta Križa to the north. Punta Križa is a low, undulating area bordered by the sea on three sides. Among the peaks, Maslovnik, only 80 masl, Ciprijan 74 masl, and the highest peak Vela Straža in the transitional area towards neighboring Osor stand out.
