The village of Punta Križa is located in the south of the island of Cres, not far from its southernmost point. The area of Punta Križ covers about 15 km2 of the southernmost part of the island of Cres, south of Osor, more precisely from the top of Vela straža (154 masl). Administratively, the entire area, although on Cres, belongs to the town of Mali Lošinj. West of Punta Križa is the island of Lošinj across the 5 km wide Lošinj Channel. On the south side are numerous shallows collectively called Plitvac Palacol and the islets of Oruda and Palacol. To the east is Kvarnerić Bay and the islet of Trstenik, about 6 km from Punta Križa, at the closest point a little over 4 km. Across Kvarnerić, further to the east is Pag, and to the northeast is Rab. To the north of Punta Križa, the closest neighboring village is Osor. Punta Križa is a low, undulating area bordered by the sea on three sides. Among the peaks, Maslovnik, only 80 masl, Ciprijan 74 masl, and the highest peak Vela Straža in the transitional area towards neighboring Osor stand out.
