From the 15th to the end of the 17th century, this “neither town nor village” was at its peak, it had its own judges and prefects, numerous church altars were cared for by brotherhoods, Glagolitic script was written and taught. Since then, Boljun has lost its significance and life has almost come to a standstill, but the town has not fallen into ruin, and even today it pleasantly surprises every excursionist with its views.
