The entire Ravna Gora field was once a dense forest surrounded by hills.
It includes the settlements: Kupjak, Leskova Draga, Ravna Gora, Stari Laz, Stara Sušica and Šije. The exact date of the foundation of Ravna Gora is unknown: it is believed that its beginning was before the construction of the Karolinska road, first in Vrh (part of Ravna Gora), and then in the place where it is still located today. The place initially had several houses with a simple road leading through it. The seat of the present-day Municipality is at 177 Ivana Gorana Kovačića Street. The Municipality Day is celebrated on October 15th, and the patron saint of the Municipality is Saint Teresa of Avila.
