About the Location

Šušnjevica is a small village in the eastern part of the Istria County, within the municipality of Kršan.

Its history reaches back to prehistoric and Roman times, and it was once part of the Kožljak estate. The first written mention of the village dates to 1340. In 1922, during Italian administration, it became the center of the municipality due to its unique language and cultural heritage.

Today, the village is known for its annual festival Fešta od Šušnjevice, dedicated to preserving the Istro-Romanian language, traditions, and customs. Visitors can enjoy traditional music, dances, costumes, local food, and handicrafts, making the festival a distinctive cultural experience.
