Krivi Put is one of the most famous settlements founded by the Bunjevci in the early 17th century, in search of better grazing for their cattle, after they arrived in the fortified town of Senj in 1605. Along with Krivi Put, they also founded the nearby settlements of Veljun Primorski, Serdari, Alan, Krmpote and Podbilo. The population, many of whom are now displaced, is still mainly engaged in livestock farming.
