The story that Sušak got its name because the women of Fiumarska used to dry their clothes there is part of folk etymology, because the laundry was on Školjić (Scoglieto) where there was enough space for drying clothes, and it would have been absurd to go by ferry, and later by bridge across the border to dry the clothes.
