The Municipality of Vižinada is one of the most prominent wine-growing regions in Croatia, with more than one million planted vines. Its winemakers have been winning numerous awards and recognitions for their wines for years. Alongside Malvasia, the most important white variety of Istria, the typical red variety of this area is Teran.

The beauty of Vižinada is best illustrated by the fact that it has often served as a backdrop for famous international films. For example, scenes from one of the best Hollywood war films of the 1970s, “Kelly’s Heroes,” directed by Bryan G. Hutton, were filmed here. Memorable performances were delivered by Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas, Don Rickles, and especially a young Donald Sutherland.
