KOLAN is located in the interior of the island, a few kilometers from the sea. It is a small, quiet place with a pronounced local identity. Life is slower and more traditional than in the tourist centers of Pag. Kolan is especially famous for sheep farming and the production of Pag cheese - one of the most famous Croatian autochthonous products. The locals are also engaged in olive growing, viticulture and fishing. The surroundings of Kolan are typical of Pag - rocky, rough, but authentic, with medicinal herbs (sage) that give a special flavor to milk and cheese. Although not on the coast, Kolan is close to the famous beaches in Mandre and Kolanjska Bay, which are popular for their clear sea and family tourism. Tourism is moderate and more focused on authentic experiences, gastronomy and a peaceful vacation.
