Valtura, a village northeast of Pula, Ližnjan municipality. It is located near the edge of a flat area above the Budava Bay in the southeastern Pula area. It is connected by roads to Ližnjan and Pula. The economy is based on agriculture and livestock, but an increasing number of residents are employed in nearby Pula or in rural tourism. Decorative stone is quarried and processed in the area (Valtura, quarry). The wider area was densely populated in prehistoric times: the most important of the hillfort settlements are Vizače (Nesactium), later a Roman settlement with a town-like appearance. Remains of Roman architecture and Roman inscriptions have been found in the settlement and its surroundings, and in 1899 a pre-Romanesque pluteus was found.
