Hreljin is a village in Croatia. It is located above the Bakar Bay. Some consider it one of the seven Liburnian fortresses of Roman Liburnia, which testifies to its being considered an old town. The old town of Hreljin was located in the area of today's Gradina. It was surrounded by walls with two towers, and had two entrances. On the northwestern and southwestern ends stood a defensive tower with a circular ground plan. The tower facing the Bay of Bakar enclosed a small citadel, probably the oldest part of the fortified settlement, with a defensive wall and a smaller tower. At the highest point of the hill was a fortress, the remains of which are still well preserved today.
